COMPETITION DETAILS:

Age limits: 16 - 30

Prizes: 1st £ 3000, 2nd £ 2000, 3rd £ 1000

Judges - Tom Martin, Tim Cobb, Jeff Bradetich and Iain Crawford.


Repertoire (accompanists available)
Round 1; Set piece 'Prelude 18' by Edward McGuire
plus any two movements from a Bach 'cello suite'.
Total playing time 10 - 15 minutes.

Round 2: Set piece 'Edge' by Peter Askim plus one from the following; Hindemith Sonata, Henze Serenade, Misek Sonata in E minor, Proto Sonata 1963, Bottesini Fantasy "La Sonambula", Gliere Four Pieces, Bottesini "Carnival of Venice" Variations, a piece of the contestant's choice, written for unaccompanied double-bass within the last thirty years, lasting up to six minutes.
Total playing time 25 - 30 minutes.

Final round: Choose one from the following Concertos: Bottesini F-sharp minor, Bottesini B minor, Dittersdorf E Major , Koussevitsky F# minor, Vanhal E major.
